Except on official holidays, PHTRC Library is open from Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.


A countersigned identification card (ID) is the student’s permit to use the library. It must be presented at the control/librarian’s desk upon entering the library.


The students, researchers and faculty are encouraged to have webmail account, for borrowing of books and other library materials. This is in strict compliance with UP I Lib System rules concerning automated borrowing and returning of books. All library announcements on new acquisitions, availability of online journals, databases, etc.; notice of library accounts; and availability of reservation and requested library material will be sent thru this email account. To apply for a UPLB webmail account, students must present validated IDs or Form 5 while for the faculty and staff, their valid UPLB ID. To get an email account, ask the help of Ms. Rachel S. PHTRC staff are entitled to borrow three (3) books while the student’s are entitled to five (2) books at a time.

The books are arranged according to the Library of Congress Classification Scheme. Books that have been used should be left on the tables.

When borrowing books, PHTRC Lib Form-01 (Request Form) must be filled out and presented to the librarian together with a valid ID.

Reserved books are to be used in the library during the day. A overnight loan of one book is allowed on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations may be made from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. Students must return overnight books within the first business hour the following day. A borrower should always leave his should always leave their ID.
