A training-workshop for UPLB Library staff on “Technological Innovations in Libraries: Trends and Access” was held on 29 May 2019 at the University Library Serials Section.
The training aimed to upgrade library staff skills with the technological innovation applications useful in the access and dissemination of library services. Dr. Mary Ann M. Ingua, head of the University Library Cataloging Section discussed the trends on technological innovations applied by various libraries abroad. Mr. Mark Daniel Ignes, the Philippine Representative of The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), provided details on the access of data and other information resources of the OECD iLibrary. Mr. Lyndon Franco J. Alvarez and Mr. Edward S. Barrerra of UPLB Main Library provided hands-on training on designing a website.
The knowledge and skills gained from the training were expected to encourage innovative ideas from the library staff for maximum delivery of library service and provide library staff with competence in sharing the use of OECD iLibrary resources and in designing a website for library information dissemination.
