UPLB Librarians together with researchers, faculty and staff of the University attended the Library User Training entitled "Developing a Publication Strategy: Guide to Getting Published held last July 30, 2018 at the Serials Section of Main Library.
The training was sponsored by Main Library in partnership with CEM Library. It aims to provide participants with tips and strategies that will help in making their papers publishable. Dr Portia G. Lapitan, UPLB Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, encouraged the participants to make use of the training and publish. She emphasized the importance of maintaining the institution's publication which she characterized as "crucial to the University's quality assurance."
Invited speaker was Mr. Carlos L. Eclevia, Jr. from Emerald Publishing. His lecture covered topics on the benefits of publishing, tips on choosing the right journal, spotting reliable vs. predatory journals, and various tools useful for researchers.
